John 10:22-42
·
The people asked Jesus to just speak plainly and
tell them if he was the messiah. His
answer was what?
·
We discussed this last week too, but why was it
important that they “hear” him telling them he was the messiah through stories
and miracles instead of just proclaiming it?
·
He slipped away.
Jesus is willing to be among us, to dine with us, to heal us, to defend
us, but if we don’t want him, if we don’t believe him, he will slip away. Here again we see the importance of our part
in this relationship. How this week can
I show my belief, my desire to know Jesus?
What is my part in this relationship?
John 11
·
The resurrection of Lazarus brought life to
Lazarus, strengthened the faith of many and was the final act that led to the
end of Jesus’ ministry here on earth.
The miracle that should have opened the eyes of the Pharisees angered
them, it was the last straw. Why do you
think it was?
·
What was the opening statement of both Martha
and Mary?
·
Jesus wept.
A verse we have spent a lot of our childhood and even adulthood perhaps
laughing at because it is the shortest verse.
What is the significance of this very short verse?
·
Jesus hid.
Once again he didn’t just stick around for the crowds to have their
way. He fled and found safety. What can we learn from this?
Write a short prayer, a love note to Jesus. Today, this week, what do you want to say to
your shepherd the man who has and will raise you from the dead?
